Hello cgtalkers!
This is kind of promo illustration for my latest personal project called The Block. It's my cgchallenge Strange Behavior entry and I started to work on this piece with wannabe goal of short animation show. Original concept is about block of apartments where residents behave strangely on their daily routine. With strong inspiration in our real everyday life, I developed the characters as human caricatures. There is a destroyed perspective in the illustration, where you can see both frontal and side view. This just want to emphasize the strangeness of whole concept.
All is modeled, rigged and MR rendered in XSI 5.11 Fnd. UV setup and textures done in BodyPaint R3. Postproduced with AfterEffects 6.5 Std.
Your comments, suggestions, crits,... are very welcome. Thanks.

Feel free to check out this naive sneakpeek animation too:

Hey!

Since BodyPaint is new tool in my production "pipeline" I started to work on this character in order to practise XSI --> BodyPaint --> XSI workflow. I called him "Timo Mess, definitely not healthy living hardworker..." Subdivision modeling is done in XSI. Color, bump and alpha textures are created in BodyPaint. Shaded and 3k rendered in XSI with some extra procedural materials. As you can see, enviroment and bodywear are handpainted elements. Extra textures on them were added in PhotoPaint, final color correction was done in AfterEffects.
I hope you like it.
Comments and Critique are always welcome.
